No More...WKC (You were expecting "Hero's"?)

Can't do it anymore. The fun is gone. I guess I just so desperately wanted this to work. But alas, despite all the coolness of this game, I just couldn't keep it. If I want MMO gameplay, I'm getting an MMO (Hellooo, FFXIV). A little sad, yes, but I've replaced it with CoD: MW2 (PC), so I'll be looking for you online! MUH HA HA!

  1. Holy cow! I must stop Kinto from buying me this game. LOL! I'll tell him to get me a cd key of Modern Warfare 2 so we can all play together. Too bad black OPS is only two player. Hopefully, I'll see you guys online soon.

I'll have to check out the beta dates for FFXIV. When I hear MMORPG my brain shuts down.

  2. I feel like I should explain a little more about why I took this back. It's worth a play, if not to just have that as a benchmark reference going forward. But the story was pretty awful, and I'm sorry, but in an RPG, if you get nothing else right, you MUST get the story right. It really is a cool game, but they built so many elements into this game, they forgot to pull them together.

For example, when questing, which is where you go solo or team up with others online, you all use your avatar. Your avatar levels up because it gets exp. So in essence, you can super power your avatar that you then use in the story mode. Except none of that exp gets transferred to your NPC's, so it feels very disjointed. The quests, or 'hunts', don't tie into the story at all from what I saw, though to be fair, I didn't do many of them.

In the end, I found myself choosing to replay Mass Effect over playing this shiny new game. That was all the sign I needed that WKC did not suck me in appropriately. I can definitely tell you all the other things they did right, so don't think I'm against this game at all. It really should be experienced. But it just wasn't enough to warrant my hard earned $60.
